According to reports, Amjad Masad, Co-Founder and CEO of Replit, stated live at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 that the company has ceased collaboration with Anthropic due to concerns around cost, partnership alignment, and performance. Replit announced its partnership with OpenAI in August this year, and Masad noted that internal and public benchmarks indicate Sol and Astra outperform in building "ambient programming" applications from scratch. However, sources familiar with the collaboration suggest the partnership continues, as evidenced by a Replit article published in September indicating that Claude Fable 5 and Claude Fable 5.1 are still running in Replit Agent’s production environment—further clarification from Replit is pending.
