According to informed sources, cybersecurity giant Palo Alto Networks acquired AI agent startup Console for $500 million in cash and stock. Founded in 2024, the company specializes in leveraging AI agents to automate IT service desk tasks, having raised a total of $29 million in funding prior to the acquisition, with a pre-acquisition valuation of $157 million. Investors include Thrive Capital and DST Global.

Palo Alto Networks plans to integrate Console into its Cortex platform, enabling security teams to investigate and resolve alerts using natural language through intelligent agent capabilities, thereby advancing enterprise-grade autonomous security operations. This acquisition marks Palo Alto Networks’ seventh deal in 2026 and positions Serval—backed by Sequoia—as a leading startup in the AI-driven IT service automation space.
