According to reports, Elon Musk's social network X has announced that all U.S. creator payouts—including those from the Original Content Rewards Program and subscription income—will now be processed via X Money, replacing the previous payment system powered by Stripe. The new system enables instant settlements, eliminating the need to wait for billing cycles or meet minimum withdrawal thresholds; previously, payments were processed biweekly with a minimum of $30.

X Money is not a bank; accounts are held by Cross River Bank, which is FDIC-insured. X states that creator payouts will count toward direct deposit requirements for users on X Money to qualify for higher APY rates, offering 6% for X Premium users and 4% for standard users. X will also issue Form 1099-NEC to individual creators, while LLCs must provide W-9 information. Additionally, X will discontinue its Creator Revenue Share Program on September 7, fully transitioning to the Original Content Rewards Program.
