Reliance Jio Opens Cloud PC Service to All Indian Users, Enabling Low-Cost Upgrades of Old PCs to AI-Ready Systems

According to reports, India's Reliance Jio has expanded its JioPC cloud PC service to all internet users, transforming older computers into AI-ready systems without any hardware upgrades. The service streams virtual PCs via the cloud, offering configurations up to 8 virtual CPUs, 16GB RAM, and 1TB storage, starting at approximately $11 every two months.

Jio claims even computers eight years old can achieve the computational power required for AI applications. IDC data shows India's PC inventory exceeds 65 million, with replacement cycles now stretching to 5–6 years; Jio aims to disrupt the traditional hardware upgrade cycle through a cloud subscription model.
