According to reports, Botiverse, the company developing the Agent collaboration application Raft, has announced a strategic pivot. Founder Richard Qian stated that the team invested excessive effort into growth and revenue generation for the Raft project, raised funding beyond actual needs, and made erroneous KOL marketing decisions.

Over the next few weeks, Botiverse will open-source several internal projects, including the main Raft repository source code, though external pull requests (PRs) will not be accepted at this time. The company believes that as Agents take on an increasingly larger share of development tasks, the traditional open-source collaboration model—where external developers submit code and maintainers review and merge contributions—may no longer be viable. Currently, Raft documentation, external Agent plugins, and application scaffolding projects have been publicly released on GitHub.
